Jances posts... again =O
As I am typing this out, I have just returned from my voluntary work which I do sometimes at this social centre for disabled people.
I was talking to this lovely lady whom I think is just absolutely amazing and I would like to share what I think is so special about her with you guys.
In the middle of a particular conversation, she showed me a really deep slash on her left wrist and explained about it. She told me that she attempted to commit suicide. She said that when the blood was slowly seeping out of her and when she thought she was going away, it would be nice to leave her pain. But when she became conscious again, she realised how stupid she was as flashes of her daughters and grandchildren appeared, reminding her of the wonders of her life.
She told me of her broken childhood. Of how she was raped when she was really young. Of how she had to always convince herself that she is worthy after that. Of how unjust that the person who raped her had only a few months of sentence while she is undoubtly affected her whole life.
chanel handbags She told me the time when her father passed away when she was only 28, when she was fully disabled. At a point, she had to go into rehab. She had a husband who kind of controlled her really. And she is always on painkillers.
She mentioned that she won't use cheap lipstick anymore because she should be treating herself. She does not need to go to second hand shops to shop for clothes anymore. She has a new aim in life. She wants to learn how to use the computer properly and learn the ways of the internet so that she can maybe do a bit of business on the internet. She couldn't exactly work after her father passed away, they wouldn't insure her because she is disabled.
I really look up to her for going from a wheelchair to 2 crutches to one crutch, for being able to smile brightly for her friends even when you can tell she is in agony, for having such a kind heart even after all she has been through.
We should realise that life shouldn't be wasted and it shouldn't be discarded just like that. There is so much to live for even in such adverse times. Lavish your love on people you cherish and treasure. There's no point brooding over a depression when others who have gone through worse can still be so optimistic about life.
So to end this post, I would like to say I LOVE YOU GUYS, my family, my friends, people I care a lot for even though I don't show it sometimes. So take good care because there are so many people who care about each and every one of us.
